The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people and places in South Australia by managing roads, marine and public transport networks across the State, and builds and maintains the State-owned infrastructure that enables the delivery of essential and important government services to our community.
The Opportunity
The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining road design standards, specifications and guidelines, delivers work programs and projects provides technical advice, project outcomes and procures technical services within the profession.
The role also integrates traffic analysis, operations and modelling with road design to achieve compliant, effective solutions supporting departmental key objectives.
About you
You possess strong professional knowledge of civil engineering, including key risks, trends and the broader operating environment.
You have proven experience delivering complex work programs, managing resources and supporting continuous improvement.
You apply sound analytical judgement to provide high-quality advice and reporting, and actively collaborate to build relationships, support change and promote knowledge sharing across teams.
Educational Qualifications / Licences
A Degree in Engineering providing eligibility for graduate membership as a Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers, Australia is essential.
Special Conditions
A National Police Check (NPC)
is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
