You'll be part of Parkerville's Cultural Safety, Practice and Partnerships team, working alongside other Aboriginal cultural practitioners and leaders to strengthen culturally safe practice across the organisation.

Who we're looking for
We're looking for an Aboriginal person who brings strong cultural knowledge, connection to community and an understanding of the strengths and needs of Aboriginal children, young people and families.
You might already be working in cultural practice, community services, child and family services or another related area.
You may also bring significant cultural and community knowledge gained outside of formal roles.
Knowledge and understanding of the Department of Communities child protection system, processes and practice would be highly regarded, particularly an understanding of how these systems impact Aboriginal children, families and communities.

This is desirable, rather than essential.
We recognise that cultural knowledge, community connection and lived experience don't always come with a formal qualification.
We value the different knowledge, skills and experiences Aboriginal people bring to this work.
If you're interested in the role but aren't sure whether you meet every requirement, we'd still encourage you to have a yarn with us.
This is an identified position.
This position is identified for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people under Section 50D of the Equal Opportunity Act **** (WA).
Aboriginality is a genuine occupational requirement of the role.
Want to have a yarn first?
We know a job ad doesn't tell you everything about a role or an organisation.
If you're interested but want to know more before applying, you're welcome to have a confidential yarn with Breanna Jackson-Reid, Executive Manager – Cultural Safety, Practice and Partnerships, at ******.
We'd particularly encourage you to get in touch if the role interests you but you're not sure whether your experience fits.
Interested?
Apply with your resume and a short cover letter telling us a little about yourself, your experience and why you're interested in the role.
Applications close
31 August ****
.
We'll be reviewing applications as they come in and may progress suitable candidates before the closing date.
All appointments are subject to relevant screening checks, including Department of Communities screening, National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
