International Paramedic College is seeking an experienced and engaging Casual Trainer and Assessor to deliver First Aid programs and practical emergency health care workshops across the Perth metropolitan area.
This role includes opportunities to deliver:
First Aid and CPR courses
Five-day practical clinical workshops associated with the HLT***** Certificate IV in Health Care
Practical workshops and assessments associated with the HLT***** Diploma of Emergency Health Care
Workplace and group training for corporate clients
This flexible casual opportunity would suit an experienced First Aid trainer, paramedic, registered nurse, emergency services professional or emergency health care practitioner who enjoys working with adult learners and delivering practical, hands-on training.

About the roleDepending on your qualifications, experience and vocational competencies, you may be engaged to deliver First Aid courses, higher level clinical workshops or a combination of both.
Your responsibilities may include:
Delivering engaging First Aid, CPR and emergency health care training
Facilitating five day practical clinical workshops for Certificate IV students
Supporting practical Diploma level emergency health care workshops and assessments
Demonstrating clinical skills, equipment and emergency response procedures
Facilitating realistic scenarios, simulations and practical activities
Conducting competency based assessments and providing constructive student feedback
Supporting students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical clinical application
Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Completing attendance, assessment and training records accurately and on time
Maintaining current vocational skills, clinical knowledge and career development
Delivering training at scheduled venues and client workplaces across Perth and wider regions
Representing International Paramedic College professionally with students, clients and industry partners
First Aid delivery may include:
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
Applicants with current vocational competency and experience delivering additional units on our scope will be highly regarded.
This may include, but is not limited to:
UETDRRF004 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel
HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid
HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy
Other emergency response, health care, safety or workplace training units

Higher level delivery may include practical skills and assessments associated with:
HLT***** Certificate IV in Health Care
HLT***** Diploma of Emergency Health Care
Applicants do not need to be able to deliver every program.
Delivery allocations will be based on each trainer's qualifications, vocational competencies, clinical experience and current industry currency.

You can demonstrate clinical skills clearly, facilitate realistic scenarios and provide students with constructive and supportive feedback.

Mandatory training and assessment requirementsApplicants must hold a recognised training and assessment credential, such as:

A recognised diploma or higher-level qualification in adult or vocational education
Applicants must also have:
Vocational competency in the units they will deliver and assess
Current First Aid and CPR competency where First Aid delivery is undertaken
Relevant and current clinical or industry experience
The right to work in Australia
A current Australian driver's licence and reliable vehicle
The ability to travel to training locations across the Perth metropolitan area and surrounds
A current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain them
Strong communication, presentation and classroom management skills
Good administration and recordkeeping skills
Availability to work weekdays, with occasional Saturdays by agreement
Additional requirements for higher level clinical deliveryApplicants seeking to deliver Certificate IV or Diploma practical workshops must be able to demonstrate:
Relevant qualifications and experience in emergency, pre hospital or out of hospital health care
Current clinical knowledge and practical skills relevant to the units being delivered
Experience assessing patients and responding to emergency or urgent health situations
Confidence using clinical equipment and facilitating practical simulations
Evidence of recent industry currency and continuing professional development
Diploma-level delivery will require appropriate advanced clinical experience and vocational competency relevant to the allocated units.
