An outstanding opportunity has arisen to join one of the best names in the Perth home building industry and head up the Drafting and Design team!
This is a key leadership position with a well-established and highly regarded volume home builder based in Osborne Park and heads up an established drafting function, leading a team of 13 designers and drafters, supported by a dedicated offshore team.
You'll have the chance to shape the way the department operates, drive efficiencies, support your team and work closely with the wider business to ensure homes move smoothly from design through to construction.
The Role Reporting into senior management, you'll provide leadership, direction and technical support across the drafting and design function.
You'll be responsible for managing workflow, priorities and team performance while ensuring documentation is accurate, buildable, compliant and delivered within required timeframes.
You'll also play an important role in improving processes and systems, mentoring your team and working collaboratively with estimating, sales, pre-construction and construction to resolve issues and keep projects moving.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead, mentor and develop a team of designers and drafters, supported by an offshore team Manage workflow, priorities and departmental deadlines Oversee the preparation and quality of residential working and construction documentation Provide technical guidance and support to the drafting team Review documentation for accuracy, buildability and compliance Ensure plans meet relevant WA building requirements, NCC, R-Codes, council and developer requirements Identify opportunities to improve drafting processes, systems and efficiencies Work closely with internal departments, consultants,



engineers and other stakeholders Help maintain strong relationships and effective communication across the local and offshore teams Support a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture What We're Looking For We're looking for an experienced residential drafting professional who is ready to take the next step into a substantial leadership role.
You'll ideally bring
Strong experience within the WA residential building industry Previous experience leading or managing a drafting/design team Strong knowledge of residential construction and the end-to-end documentation process A solid understanding of WA building requirements, NCC, R-Codes and approval processes Strong technical drafting knowledge and ArchiCAD experience Excellent organisational and workflow management skills A practical, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to make decisions The ability to lead, mentor and get the best from a large team Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments What's On Offer This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Drafting Manager, Senior Drafting Manager or highly capable Senior Draftsperson ready to step into a larger leadership position.
