Monday to Friday, 72.5 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
$107,154 - $111,619 per annum (LGIA Stream A) Level 5 or $98,633 - $104,913 Level 4 (dependent on skills and experience) + Superannuation

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a Financial Systems Officer to join our Finance team.
Working within the Financial Systems Unit, you will play a key role in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing Council's finance systems, reporting capabilities, and business processes.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will assist with system upgrades, integrations, reporting development, data analysis, and user support across Council's financial systems.
Your work will help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of critical financial information while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and informed decision-making.
This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical and customer-focused qualified who enjoys combining financial knowledge with technology and systems expertise.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
Relevant Industry experience and/or qualifications in Accounting, Business, Information Technology.
Sound knowledge of Accounting Standards, financial management principles, and enterprise business systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot system issues and implement effective solutions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage priorities,



meet deadlines, and work collaboratively within a team

Demonstrated experience in financial systems administration, reporting, and data analysis, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
Proven ability to develop and enhance financial reports and data extracts that support operational and business requirements.
Sound knowledge of Accounting Standards, financial principles, and system controls, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to provide professional advice, drive continuous improvement, and manage competing priorities.
