The opportunity
We are in the market for a highly skilled and motivated Project
Manager Design and Construction to manage the City's in-house
annual civil capital works projects and provide project management
services.
Reporting to the Manager Technical Services, this role will be
responsible for managing civil projects, including:
Assisting the Coordinators for Engineering Services, Design
Services, Survey Services and City Construction to organise the
design process from concept schematic drawings through to
ready-for-construction documentation
Providing quality infrastructure project management
services to the organisation, including timely and budget
sensitive delivery of key capital works and investigation
projects
Effectively managing capital investment works projects by
facilitating multi-disciplinary teams and providing advice on
strategic commercial and project issues
Actively managing project and contractual risks and
compliance, and preparing project risk registers with clear
mitigation plans
Facilitating the procurement and contract awarding process;
and
Ensuring programmed targets and budgets are met.
To be successful in this role, you will
need:
A degree qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g.
Engineering or Construction)
Recognition by The Institution of Engineers Australia as a
professional Engineer
A minimum five (5) years of relevant experience
Comprehensive knowledge of contracts, contract law and
project management principles
Thorough knowledge of the project management process from
client brief to project hand over.
Sound current knowledge of civil construction
methods/techniques, utilities, all services and equipment
Sound knowledge of the civil approval process, regulatory
authorities, procedures, codes and regulations
Current unrestricted 'C' class national driver's
licence.

*The salary for this role commences at step 1, with
potential for movement within the range based on demonstrated
skills and experience.
Incremental progression typically occurs
at the conclusion of each 12-month period, in accordance with
the Industrial Agreement.
