About the role
The Project Manager plays an integral part in ensuring that Capability Support continues to deliver personalised, trauma-informed and professional services that improve the lives of people we support.
The role is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering projects that strengthen organisational capability, improve systems and processes, and support high-quality outcomes for clients, staff and stakeholders.
The Project Manager works closely and in partnership with Capability Support's Executive Leadership Group (ELG), and project stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered in a coordinated, practical and values-aligned way.
This includes clarifying project scope, engaging stakeholders, managing timelines and risks, supporting implementation, and ensuring changes are communicated and embedded effectively across the organisation.
Responsibilities and Duties
Plan, coordinate and support the delivery of organisational projects and initiatives, including through:
Working with project sponsors and key stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timeframes and success measures
Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, registers, status reports and other project documentation
Coordinating project activities across teams, contractors, suppliers and external partners to support timely delivery
Monitoring project progress, identifying issues and risks, and escalating matters where appropriate
Supporting change management activities, including communication, stakeholder engagement, training coordination and implementation planning.
Preparing clear updates,
briefs and reports for leaders, project sponsors and other stakeholders
Maintaining accurate project records and ensuring documentation is stored and shared appropriately
Supporting procurement, vendor liaison and contract coordination where required for project delivery
Contributing to project budget tracking, resource planning and expenditure monitoring in partnership with relevant leaders
Supporting continuous improvement by reviewing project outcomes, capturing lessons learned and recommending practical improvements
Facilitating meetings, workshops and working groups, including preparing agendas, papers, minutes and actions where required
Any other duties as required
Requirements
Highly Desirable
Experience coordinating or managing projects in a community services, disability, health, education or not-for-profit workplace
Strong organisational, planning and time-management skills
Experience developing project plans, reports, risk registers and implementation documentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear updates for different audiences
Ability to build positive working relationships and influence stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner
Ability to manage competing priorities, solve problems and maintain momentum in a busy environment
Willingness to learn, take initiative and contribute to continuous improvement
Essential
Relevant qualification in project management, business, community services or a related field
Ability to maintain client, staff and stakeholder confidentiality
Valid Working with Vulnerable People Registration ACT, and/or Queensland Blue Card, or ability to gain this
Valid CYF clearance, or ability to gain this
Valid police check, or ability to gain this
Drivers' license
