About the role
Bideri At Your Service is seeking passionate and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team in supporting children, young people and adults living with disability, mental health conditions and complex/challenging behaviours.
You will provide person-centred support while maintaining a safe, respectful and supportive environment.
Key responsibilities
Support participants with daily living and personal development
Facilitate community access, appointments, skill-building, shopping and social participation
Organise and support social and recreational activities
Build independence and life skills with participants
Provide emotional and behavioural support
Provide mental health support
Implement positive behaviour support strategies
Support participants who may display challenging behaviours
Follow individual support and behaviour plans
Complete accurate progress notes and incident reporting
About you
Experience supporting children, young people and/or adults with disability
Experience working with challenging or complex behaviours
Experience supporting people with mental health needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy and a calm approach
Ability to follow behaviour support and care plans
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Solid documentation and reporting skills
A commitment to participant dignity, choice and independence
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends where required
Mandatory Requirements
Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Mental Health or related qualification
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working With Children Check
National Police Check
First Aid and CPR
Manual Handling training
Infection Control training
Current driver's license
Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
Right to work in Australia with no restriction
