We're looking for an HR Lead to join our team and play a central role in that work.
A different kind of HR role This isn't a narrow, single-employer HR administration role.
You'll be the senior HR point of contact across a portfolio of clients, shaping strategy, systems and culture rather than simply executing transactional HR.
You'll take a leadership role within our HR consulting team in guiding, mentoring and reviewing the work of our HR Consultants, setting the standard for how we advise clients, and stepping in on the more complex or sensitive matters, while advising leadership teams directly, designing HR frameworks from the ground up and coaching client managers on people leadership.
And because you'll do this across a wide range of clients and industries, no two weeks look the same.
You'll build a portfolio of trusted relationships, see the direct impact of your advice across multiple organisations, and develop a breadth of exposure most in-house HR Leads never get.
The opportunity As an HR Lead, you will:
Provide day-to-day guidance, mentoring and technical oversight to our team of HR Consultants, reviewing their work and supporting their development Act as the escalation point for complex or higher-risk client matters,
stepping in alongside consultants where needed Partner with a diverse range of clients to deliver end-to-end HR support across the employee lifecycle Provide strategic and operational HR advice to client leadership teams, senior managers and business owners Lead workforce planning initiatives for client organisations Manage employee relations matters, including performance management, grievances and disciplinary processes Design, implement and review HR policies, procedures and management systems tailored to each client Support remuneration benchmarking, culture and engagement initiatives, and change management programs Coach and upskill client managers on people leadership and HR best practice Help shape team workload, allocation and priorities across the HR consulting caseload Contribute to the continuous improvement of WCA's HR consulting methodologies, tools and resources What you'll bring You are an HR professional who: Enjoys partnering with leadership teams and becoming a trusted advisor across multiple client environments Has an interest in mentoring and developing other HR professionals, and enjoys being a go-to for the team Has broad generalist experience across the full employee lifecycle, including ER, performance and change Understands how to translate the Fair Work Act and employment legislation into practical workplace solutions Has led or contributed to HR strategy,
systems design or organisational change initiatives Are confident managing competing priorities across multiple clients or business units Wants to expand their expertise by working across multiple industries and organisational environments Thrives in a consulting environment where no two days are the same Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline Minimum of 5+ years' Senior HR experience Experience mentoring, supervising or informally guiding other HR professionals highly regarded Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Australian employment legislation Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters, including investigations and disciplinary processes Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including providing advice to senior stakeholders and preparing reports for target audiences Experience designing or reviewing HR policies, procedures and systems highly regarded Consulting, multi-site or multi-client HR experience highly regarded What we offer A great team in a supportive, welcoming and friendly work environment Competitive remuneration and opportunities for career development A modern, centrally located office in West Perth Career advancement opportunities, including a growing leadership role within our HR consulting team Why join us This is a genuine opportunity to broaden your HR experience beyond a single in-house function, apply your skills across industries most HR professionals never get exposure to, and grow alongside a team of highly respected HR and safety professionals who care deeply about doing work that matters.
