Client

An ICG client is looking for an experienced strategic sourcing specialist to lead their team through a period of change and transformation following a restructure. Additionally the specialist will be expected to help support in the hiring and transition of a permanent candidate.

Role

- Day to day leadership of the sourcing team (6 FTE) reporting to the Deputy CFO

- Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities across the sourcing domain (including but not limited to) supplier management, policy uplift, team alignment & performance

- Support an ongoing program of sourcing and optimisation to support value creation for the business

- Define multiple category strategies across technology, professional services and legal

- Support the interview process to identify the “best fit” candidate to take on the role longer term

- Support transition of the successful candidate into the role

Key Deliverables:

- A transparent sourcing strategy and plan (incorporating initial sourcing strategies)

- Continuous improvement plan

- Ongoing reporting on activity and outcomes

- A forecast savings plan in support of organisational productivity objectives

Skills and experience required:

- Strong operational management skills gained in a sourcing/procurement context





- Experience operating across multiple categories

- Strategic sourcing experience and the ability to effectively synthesize category and supplier strategies and plans

- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills

- Financial services and retail (preferred not required)

Logistics

Start date: Immediate start Duration: four to five months

Location: Sydney or Melbourne

Rate: The daily rate to the consultant will be $1,550 per day paid plus gst to the right professional.
