About the Role -

/n

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast paced manufacturing environment and enjoys working closely with Production, Engineering and Finance to ensure materials are delivered on time and projects stay on schedule.

/n

As our Purchasing Officer, you'll be responsible for sourcing and procuring custom manufactured components and production materials to meet project deadlines. You'll play a critical role in maintaining supplier relationships, managing inventory requirements and supporting efficient manufacturing operations.

/n

You will also assist with purchasing factory consumables, construction tools, maintenance items and other general operational requirements.

/n

Key Responsibilities -

/n

/n

- Plan purchasing activities around fixed production schedules and project deadlines.

/n

- Coordinate supplier lead times to ensure the timely delivery of materials.

/n

- Source and order custom manufactured components.

/n

- Interpret CAD drawings and technical files for supplier quotations and manufacturing.

/n

- Procure fabrication and sheet metal components, including laser cutting.

/n

- Monitor supplier performance, quality and delivery.

/n

- Work within an ERP system to manage purchasing, inventory and demand planning.

/n





- Support project based purchasing while monitoring job costs.

/n

- Assess supplier capacity, identify potential supply constraints and develop alternative sourcing strategies.

/n

- Raise purchase orders for factory consumables, tooling, maintenance items and other operational requirements.

What We're Looking For -

/n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

/n

/n

- Previous purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.

/n

- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

/n

- Experience purchasing custom manufactured components.

/n

- Ability to read and understand CAD drawings and manufacturing file types.

/n

- Knowledge of general fabrication and sheet metal manufacturing processes, including laser cutting, folding and welding.

/n

- Understanding of metal material grades, finishes and protective coatings.

/n

- Experience with quality assurance processes and documentation control.

/n

- Experience using ERP purchasing and inventory management systems.

/n

- Experience with Fishbowl ERP software would be highly regarded.

/n

- Understanding of project based job costing.

/n

- Excellent supplier negotiation and relationship management skills.

/n

- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to anticipate supply issues and implement practical solutions.

- Mon-Thurs: 6am-2:30pm
