An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced, qualified Carpenter as Works Supervisor to join a well-established facilities maintenance organisation experiencing continued growth.

Following the successful appointment of another senior trade professional, our client is now seeking an additional Works Supervisor to support the delivery of planned maintenance, responsive works and minor projects.

/n

About the Role

/n

Reporting to the Works Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising allocated maintenance and project works from initial assessment and quotation through to successful completion.

/n

You will work closely with internal tradespeople, subcontractors, clients and senior management to ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

/n

Key Responsibilities

/n

/n

- Supervise trade staff, subcontractors and site activities

/n

- Coordinate planned maintenance, responsive works and minor projects

/n

- Manage allocated work orders through the computerised maintenance management system

/n

- Inspect works, assess requirements and prepare accurate cost estimates and written quotations

/n

- Liaise professionally with clients regarding job progress, timeframes and outcomes

/n

- Schedule and coordinate trades to ensure works are completed within agreed timeframes

/n

- Monitor the quality and completion of work performed by internal teams and subcontractors

/n

- Maintain appropriate site control and ensure protected work practices are followed

/n





- Escalate matters to senior management when decisions fall outside your authority or expertise

/n

- Ensure completed works comply with company procedures, legislation, trade standards and work health and safety requirements

/n

- Support training, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the trade team

/n/n

About You

/n

You will be an experienced and practical trade professional who is confident supervising people, coordinating multiple work orders and communicating with clients.

/n

To be considered, you will ideally demonstrate:

/n

/n

- A completed and, where applicable, licensed carpenter

/n

- Strong experience within facilities maintenance, responsive maintenance, construction or project-based works

/n

- Previous experience supervising tradespeople, contractors or site-based teams

/n

- The ability to assess work, estimate costs and prepare written quotations

/n

- Strong planning, organisation and time-management skills

/n

- Professional verbal and written communication skills

/n

- Confidence managing competing priorities and adapting to changing operational requirements

/n

- Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office

/n

- Experience using a computerised maintenance management system or similar job-management platform

/n

- A strong commitment to safety, quality and professional service delivery

/n

- A current driver licence

/n/n
