About Us
Handwerk is German for “skilled craftsmanship”. With owner Steffen bringing over 20 years’ experience in stylish, unique, custom-designed cabinetry, joinery and fit-outs, this is what we do best. We work on a variety of commercial and residential projects across Perth and Fremantle.
About the Role
We currently have a vacancy for a skilled, full-time Cabinet Maker to join our workshop. You’ll be a fully qualified tradesperson with solid, hands-on experience across all aspects of cabinet making, and feel just as confident working independently as you do as part of a small team.
Your daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Reading and interpreting drawings and job orders
- Measuring, marking out and cutting timber/board materials
- Operating workshop machinery (e.g. panel saw, edge bander, router, sanders)
- Assembling cabinets and furniture, fitting hardware and accessories
- Sanding, preparing and finishing surfaces (stain, varnish, paint, laminate)
- Repairing or modifying existing cabinetry or furniture as needed
- Checking quality and accuracy of work, and maintaining a clean, safe workshop

About You
Along with a solid work ethic, you’ll have:
- Trade qualification (Certificate III in Cabinet Making / Joinery or equivalent) and proven cabinetmaking experience
- Strong focus on safety, reliability and pride in workmanship
- Full Australian working rights and reside within reasonable distance of the workshop in Beaconsfield
- Confident use of hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery (panel saws, edge banders, routers, sanders)
- Own basic tools and transport - Current driver’s licence
- Skilled in assembling and installing cabinetry/joinery (kitchens, wardrobes, shopfitting, etc.) to a high standard
- Able to work independently and in a team, meet deadlines and communicate professionally
