About the teamWant to experience retrieval medicine in Western Australia’s Pilbara region without relocating? The RFDS WA Medical team delivers critical care, aeromedical retrieval and telehealth services to communities across one of the largest and most remote health jurisdictions in the world.
Working from our Port Hedland base, you will support patients across remote communities, nursing posts, hospitals and retrieval settings, alongside RFDS doctors, nurses, pilots, coordination centre teams, regional hospitals, remote clinics and community health partners.
About the roleProvide emergency medical advice, telehealth support and clinical coordination for patients, clinicians and remote sitesUndertake aeromedical retrieval flights as part of a medical retrieval team, supporting critically ill and injured patients across WAParticipate in continuing medical education, clinical governance and quality improvement activities
About youRegistered, or eligible for registration, with AHPRA as a Medical PractitionerMinimum five years postgraduate experience, with broad clinical experience across acute critical care medicine, emergency medicine, anaesthetics, ICU, rural generalist practice, paediatrics or obstetricsConfident independently managing critically ill and injured patients, including procedural skills relevant to critical care medicineStrong communication, teamwork and clinical judgement in complex and remote environmentsUnderstanding of First Nations culture and health, with aeromedical retrieval experience highly regarded but not essential
