ROLE – Welder / Fabricator

SALARY – Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience

TYPE – Temporary Contract (2-3 months)

LOCATION – Sydney, NSW

My client specialises in the manufacture, maintenance and repair of industrial process plant equipment. They are looking for an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their team in Sydney on a temporary contract.

The Welder / Fabricator will ideally have the following attributes:

- Trade qualified Welder, Boilermaker, Fabricator or similar
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar welding and fabrication position
- Strong experience with stainless steel welding and fabrication
- Previous experience working with process plant equipment or within process plant environments
- Solid TIG welding experience, with MIG and/or Stick welding capabilities
- Experience fabricating stainless steel components, structures and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld procedures and technical documentation
- Experience working with stainless steel materials and understanding of appropriate welding techniques
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team




- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures
- Excellent communication and time management skills

The Welder / Fabricator role will involve:

- Carrying out stainless steel welding and fabrication work on process plant equipment
- Performing TIG, MIG and other welding tasks to a high standard
- Fabricating, assembling and modifying stainless steel components and structures
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and weld procedures
- Preparing, fitting and aligning components prior to welding
- Inspecting completed work to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy
- Operating workshop equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
- Assisting with repairs, modifications and project work as required
- Ensuring all welding and fabrication work is completed in line with safety and quality standards
- Liaising with supervisors, engineers and other workshop personnel
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment
- Working to project deadlines and production schedules
