The Work Health & Safety (WHS) Officer supports TDC to provide protected, healthy and culturally respectful workplaces across a diverse range of business units and community services.
Working closely with managers, employees, contractors and community stakeholders, the WHS Officer assists in embedding a proactive safety culture by providing practical advice, monitoring compliance, identifying risks and supporting continuous improvement in workplace health and safety.
About You:
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or equivalent qualification
- Demonstrated experience in wokplace health and safety role
- Experience working for a not-for-profit organsiation
- Experience undertaking workplace inspections and risk assessments
- Ability to delivery training and engage staff at all levels
- Experience working in remote communities
Desirable:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Fire Warden or Emergency Response training.
- Knowledge of psychosocial risk management.
Essential Licences/clearances
- National police check
- NT Working with Children check (Ochre card)
- Minimum C class driver's licence
- Northern Land Council (NLC) Permits (with assistance)
