Our client is looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to take ownership of their costing processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and actionable insights that drive business success.

As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing all aspects of product costing within our clients manufacturing environment. You'll work closley with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and finance, to ensure accurate cost reporting and provide insights that drive efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate costing models for all products
- Manage and update bill of materials (BOM) to reflect changes in production processes or raw material costs
- Analyze production costs, including labor, overheads, and raw materials, to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Perform variance analysis between actual costs and standard costs; investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with production teams to understand workflows and ensure accurate cost allocation
- Prepare detailed cost reports for management to support pricing decisions and profitability analysis
- Monitor inventory valuation and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to production costs
- Assist with financial audits by providing relevant costing data
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or Management Accountant within a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing experience highly regarded)
- Strong knowledge of costing principles, BOM management, and production costings
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) for costing and inventory management
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with food manufacturing processes or FMCG industries
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements specific to food production (e.g., HACCP)
- Experience implementing process improvements within costing functions
