About the Role
As we continue to expand across Australia, we're looking for a passionate and hands-on HR Advisor who thrives on building positive workplace experiences and fostering an inclusive, respectful culture. As a HR Advisor, you will have the opportunity to be a trusted advisor for our MUJI stores in VIC, helping managers and employees to create an inclusive and high-performing work environment. You will play a pivotal role in:
- Leading proactive employee relations - resolving workplace matters early, fairly and constructively
- Advising on Fair Work Act and General Retail Industry Award (GRIA) compliance, ensuring decisions align with legislative requirements and MUJI's standards
- Supporting investigations and performance management with fairness, empathy and professionalism
- Partnering with leaders to build confidence in handling people matters and fostering trust within their teams
- Championing wellbeing, learning and development, while creating a respectful and inclusive workplace
- Promoting a safe and respectful work culture by ensuring WHS compliance and directly supporting managers in addressing staff wellbeing risks.
- Serving as the primary and trusted HR contact for all VIC store teams, providing reliable and expert advice on all HR matters
- Working with the wider HR team to execute cyclical activities, including recruitment, annual performance processes, and other ad-hoc projects where required

About You
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Employment Relations or a related discipline
- 2-4 years’ experience in a generalist HR or ER/IR advisory role, ideally within a retail environment
- Solid working knowledge and understanding of Australian employment law, including Fair Work Act, NES and Modern Awards
- Good understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, injury management or return-to-work practices
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with staff at different levels
- A high-level emotional intelligence, cultural awareness and sensitivity, with an ability to navigate ambiguity and challenging situations with discretion
- Proven ability to work independently while effectively managing competing priorities
- Willingness and ability to provide onsite HR support across multiple MUJI stores four days per week, with one work from home day
