Wasply Talent Partnership
Brisbane
Company
This firm has been in operation for more than 80 years, with six partners and multiple offices, and that longevity shows in the client base they’ve built. They work with multi-generational private family groups and private companies ranging from $10 million to over $1 billion in annual revenue, across law and qualified services, agriculture, Tier 1 and Tier 2 property development and construction, medical and healthcare, and large hospitality groups. The work is genuinely complex, with multi-entity structures and real history behind them, so there’s enough depth and variety to keep things interesting at a senior level all year round.
Despite the complexity of the work, the way the firm operates is flexible. You can work 100% remotely from anywhere in Australia, or take a hybrid arrangement if you’d rather balance home and office. Flexibility is handled with common sense and trust, and there’s a firm-wide policy of no calls or emails outside working hours, so when you finish for the day, your evening is your own. The majority of the client base also sits under a retained service arrangement rather than pure billable hours, which means budgets reflect the actual work and you won’t spend your year watching the clock in billable units or defending write-offs.
There’s flexibility in the role itself as well. Client contact is there for those who enjoy it, but the role equally suits someone who prefers a more technical focus. Every team member also receives an annual upskill allowance on top of the firm’s structured internal training, which can be put towards whatever moves your career forward, whether that’s a specialist tax program, advisory training or a software accreditation. It’s an environment that can work well at different stages of life, whether you’re returning from leave, looking for more balance, or wanting to keep advancing within an established, well-run firm.
Position
As a Senior Accountant,
you’ll have a good balance of technical work, mentorship and advisory opportunities. You’ll help review the work of junior team members while remaining hands-on across complex tax compliance and financial reporting, including the preparation and review of financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts and group structures, along with BAS and GST obligations.
Beyond the compliance work, you’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in genuinely interesting advisory projects across the firm’s private group client base, including business valuations, growth consulting, strategic planning, acquisitions and R&D; tax incentives.
For those working remotely, the firm provides a full home office setup from day one, and you’ll have genuine autonomy over how you manage your day and your workflow.

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workflow and work autonomously.
- Comfortable working remotely,
with previous hybrid or work-from-home experience highly regarded.
- Experience with Xero and FYI Docs preferred, however candidates with MYOB AE, HandiSoft, APS or similar practice management software are encouraged to apply, as the systems can be taught.
Additional Opportunities
Alongside this position, I am currently engaged on a number of assignments across the accounting and financial services sector, including several work from home roles that are not advertised publicly. If you are still weighing up your options, sometimes the easiest place to start is a confidential conversation rather than a formal application, so feel free to give me a call directly. Nothing you share goes any further, and your details are never presented to a firm without your agreement.
