Your new role

As a Traffic Engineer, you will provide specialist technical advice on traffic and transport matters and play a key role in improving the safety, efficiency and functionality of local road networks. You will assess and recommend traffic infrastructure improvements, coordinate traffic-related projects, contribute to transport studies, liaise with key stakeholders and support the delivery of Council's traffic and transport programs. The role also involves preparing reports, managing project delivery, supporting traffic committee processes and representing Council in community and stakeholder engagements.

What you'll need to succeed

- Tertiary qualifications in Traffic Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or significant relevant industry experience.
- Solid knowledge of traffic and transport management principles, legislation and industry standards.




- Experience assessing traffic infrastructure including intersections, roads, cycleways and pedestrian facilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project management, analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Ability to prepare technical reports and provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Current Driver's Licence and willingness to attend occasional after-hours meetings.
