About the JCTS
Joint Colleges Training Services Pty Ltd (JCTS) is a national organisation with a focus on creating greater access, acceptance and participation in healthcare for Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander peoples and communities.
JCTS is a joint venture between the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). JCTS facilitates shared GP training activities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health initiatives, delivery of cultural safety training, mentorship, and supports GP training in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services.
About the opportunity
Working as part of the Marketing and Communications Team, the Events and Experience Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering JCTS events, conferences and engagement activities that support GP Training and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Training Strategic Plan.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role coordinates end-to-end event delivery, including logistics, budgets, suppliers and on-site support.
The role requires regular travel, including interstate travel, to attend and support JCTS national events, conferences and key activities.
Working closely with internal teams, external partners and stakeholders, the Events and Experience Coordinator ensures events are well-organised, culturally appropriate, well-governed and aligned with the JCTS brand. The role also contributes to monitoring event outcomes and using feedback to drive continuous improvement.
As the Events & Experience Coordinator, you’ll also:
- Plan and coordinate national events, conferences, workshops and staff engagement activities.
- Coordinate JCTS participation in external conferences, including sponsorships, registrations, travel and accommodation.
- Manage event logistics, suppliers, budgets, merchandise and event materials.
- Travel to and provide on-site operational support at JCTS events, conferences and key activities, including interstate travel as required.
- Work collaboratively with Regional Managers and internal teams to support regional and program-related events.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Team to promote events and coordinate communications and branded materials.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, partners and stakeholders to support successful event delivery.
- Support conference abstract submissions and other event-related administration.
- Identify event opportunities that align with JCTS strategic priorities and support organisational and leadership objectives.
- Ensure events are culturally appropriate, well-governed and consistent with organisational policies and standards.
- Monitor event outcomes and feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Demonstrated experience coordinating conferences, workshops or other large-scale events.
- Strong event logistics skills, including travel, accommodation, registrations and supplier coordination.
- Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Robust communication and stakeholder relationship skills,
with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience managing event budgets, tracking costs and coordinating event materials and promotional collateral.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant qualification in Event Management, Communications, Marketing or a related field.
Desirable
• Experience in health, education, training, or a similar sector
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs or communities
