The Role:
If you're someone who takes pride in high standards and enjoys hands-on work around aircraft operations, this role offers a mix of aircraft presentation, ground handling and operational support.
Working as part of the Special Purchase Aircraft team, you'll help keep aircraft clean, presentable and ready for service. You'll work closely with maintenance and operations personnel, supporting daily aircraft movements while maintaining the safety and professionalism expected in a VIP aviation environment.
This role is based in Canberra and requires the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 and ASIC clearances.
Key Responsibilities
You'll play an important role in keeping the SPA fleet safe, presentable and ready for operations.
- Maintain the presentation and cleanliness of the aircraft fleet
- Support aircraft towing, servicing and ground handling activities
- Operate ground support equipment safely and in accordance with procedures
- Keep accurate records of completed work and daily activities
- Work closely with maintenance and operations teams to support aircraft readiness
- Ensure tools, equipment and supplies are available and serviceable
- Contribute to a safe workplace and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You'll enjoy this role if you're practical, reliable and genuinely care about the quality of your work.
You may already have experience in aviation, transport, logistics, facilities,
automotive detailing or another hands-on operational environment where safety and attention to detail matter.
You'll bring:
- A current driver's licence
- Confidence working outdoors and around equipment
- Robust attention to detail
- Experience following procedures and maintaining accurate records
- Basic computer skills
- A professional approach and strong work ethic
- The ability to work safely and consistently as part of a team
Previous experience in ground handling, aircraft detailing, aviation operations or customer-facing environments will be well regarded.
