A-Grade Industrial Electrician

Fuel Tanks & Capital Projects

Laverton North, VIC | Full-Time

Workshop-Based | Overtime Available | Long-Term Stability

Are you an A-Grade Electrician looking for something different from traditional electrical work?

Join A-FLO Equipment and work on the complete build of large-scale fuel storage tanks, refuelling systems and industrial equipment.

This is a hands-on, heavily mechanical role where your electrical skills are combined with mechanical fitting, assembly, plumbing, equipment installation and commissioning.

You won’t just be wiring equipment and walking away. You’ll be involved in the complete build from start to finish.

Why Join A-FLO Equipment?

- Workshop-based role

- Overtime available

- Work on complete industrial builds

- Heavily hands-on and mechanical

- Learn and develop mechanical fitting skills

- Work with pumps, pipework, valves, control systems and industrial equipment

- Reliable pipeline of projects in a growing industry

- Work alongside experienced mechanical and electrical trades

- Supportive, practical and no-ego team culture

- Opportunity to develop into more senior or specialised roles

- Free monthly team lunches

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced A-Grade Industrial Electrician to join our production team at our Laverton North workshop.

This is not a traditional electrician role.

While your electrical trade and experience are important, the role is heavily focused on mechanical assembly and the complete construction of our equipment.

You’ll work alongside our mechanical tradespeople and be trained in the mechanical side of our builds, developing skills in mechanical fitting, pipework, pumps, valves, hose assemblies, equipment installation and general fabrication/assembly.

Your electrical skills will then be used to complete the electrical installation, wiring, testing and commissioning of the finished equipment.

The result is a genuinely multi-skilled role combining electrical and mechanical work.

What You’ll Be Doing

Electrical

- Building and wiring electrical control panels

- Electrical fit-out and skid wiring

- Wiring diesel and AdBlue tank storage systems

- Connecting pumps, controls, sensors and associated equipment

- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics

- Electrical testing and commissioning

- Fault finding and troubleshooting

Mechanical

- Mechanical assembly and equipment installation

- Fitting pumps, valves, pipework and associated components

- Hose assembly and installation

- Mechanical fit-out of fuel and AdBlue systems

- Assisting with tank and equipment assembly

- Using hand and power tools

- Learning and developing mechanical fitting skills

- Working with mechanical trades to complete full project builds

- General workshop assembly and fabrication tasks

Project Completion

- Working on projects from initial build through to completion

- Testing and commissioning completed equipment

- Identifying and resolving issues during the build process

- Working closely with the Production Team

- Ensuring completed equipment meets A-FLO's quality standards

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an A-Grade Electrician who enjoys working with their hands and isn't afraid to get stuck into the mechanical side of a build.

You will ideally have:

- A-Grade Electrical Licence - VIC

- Industrial electrical experience

- Strong fault-finding ability

- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics

- Good mechanical aptitude

- A willingness to learn mechanical fitting

- Comfortable using hand and power tools

- Practical, hands-on approach

- Strong attention to detail

- Reliable and self-motivated

- Pride in the quality of your work

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

You don't need to be a qualified mechanical fitter. We will teach you the mechanical side of our equipment and builds.

However, you do need to be comfortable with a role that involves significant mechanical work.

Minimum Requirements

- Trade-qualified Electrician

- Current Victorian A-Grade Electrical Licence

- Full working rights in Australia

- Current driver's licence

- Two work-related references

- Successful completion of a National Police Check

Employment is subject to a satisfactory National Police Check.

The Difference

At A-FLO, you’re not just another electrician on the tools.

You’ll be part of a team building large-scale fuel storage systems, refuelling equipment and industrial projects for customers across Australia.

This role gives you the opportunity to broaden your skillset beyond traditional electrical work and develop strong mechanical fitting and equipment assembly capabilities.

If you’re an electrician who enjoys building things, solving problems, working with machinery and seeing a project come together from start to finish, this could be a great fit.
