ROLE – Systems Engineer

SALARY – $130,000 - $160,000 (Dependent on Experience)

TYPE – Permanent

LOCATION – Adelaide, SA

My client designs complex, high-tech products and systems within the Defence sector. They are looking for a Systems Engineer to join their team in Adelaide on a permanent basis.

The Systems Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

- Proven experience in a Systems Engineering position within the Aerospace & Defence sector
- Degree qualified in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related discipline
- Robust experience with requirements engineering, including capture, decomposition, traceability, verification and change management
- Strong experience across Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience with system integration, integration planning, Verification & Validation (V&V;)
- Experience with configuration management and baseline management processes
- Experience preparing engineering artefacts to support formal design reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR and acceptance activities
- Previous experience leading or mentoring engineering teams would be highly desirable
- Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills

The Systems Engineer role will involve:

- Working across Model-Based Systems Engineering activities across the product development lifecycle
- Leading system integration planning, Verification & Validation (V&V;) activities
- Developing and maintaining Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and managing system interfaces
- Supporting configuration management and baseline control throughout development
- Producing and maintaining systems engineering documentation and technical data packs
- Preparing engineering artefacts and technical evidence for formal design reviews including SRR, PDR and CDR
- Working closely with customers and key stakeholders to ensure project requirements are achieved
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex, high-performance defence systems
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the ongoing growth of the engineering function
