Registered Nurse – General Practice

We’re looking for a part time Registered Nurse who genuinely enjoys making a difference in primary care to join our friendly and supportive team.

About the role

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are quite the same. You’ll use your clinical expertise to provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care while working closely with our doctors, nurses and broader general practice team.

Your role will include:

- Providing comprehensive nursing care within your RN scope of practice

- Applying primary healthcare principles to everyday practice

- Delivering health promotion, preventative care and patient education

- Supporting chronic disease management, health assessments and preventative health initiatives

- Providing immunisations and assisting with clinical procedures

- Using your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust, confidence and positive patient experiences

- Working collaboratively and providing collegial support to the nursing and broader practice team

- Providing care that is respectful, inclusive and culturally safe

- Managing our electronic client reminder and recall system using Best Practice and AutoMed

What we’re looking for

Mandatory

You will need:

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

- Experience in, and a genuine interest in, primary care

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- The ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients from all backgrounds and demographics

- A valid and clean National Police Clearance Certificate

- At least one COVID-19 vaccination

⭐ Desirable

It would be great if you also have:

- Completed an immunisation course

- Experience in women's health, or a willingness to learn

- Experience using medical software such as Best Practice and AutoMed

- Experience or demonstrated skills in:

- ECGs

- Preventative health education

- Chronic disease management

- Health assessments

- Immunisations

- Procedure assistance
