About us:

Racecourse Projects is a large scale established sugar cane company based in the Mackay region, farming over 5,000 ha of cane land, delivering cane to Mackay Sugar and Wilmar Sugar.

We have the below opportunities to join our team on a full-time basis:

· Experienced Tractor Operator / General Farmhand – Blue Mountain

· Experienced Tractor Operator / General Farmhand – Clairview

· General Farm & Irrigation worker with Career Development opportunities - Marwood

The Roles:

You will be a key part of the farming operations team, operating tractors and agricultural machinery and undertaking a range of general farm duties.

The positions will suit practical, reliable people who enjoy working outdoors, take pride in their work and are happy to get involved in all aspects of farm operations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Operate tractor and related machinery safely and efficiently, using Greenstar GPS system.

· Basic maintenance and breakdown diagnosis, repair or referral for repairs and maintenance for all plant and equipment. Ensure machinery and equipment is maintained and kept in positive working order.

· Undertake general farm and property maintenance.

· Assist with irrigation and other farming activities.

· Assist with planting, harvesting and seasonal farm activities as required.





· Ensure all work practices are conducted in a safe manner in line with relevant legislative requirements.

· Additionally, you may be required to conduct other duties as required.

The experience we’re looking for

· Previous experience operating tractors and agricultural machinery

· Previous farm or agricultural experience preferred

· Sugar cane or broad acre farming experience advantageous

· Basic mechanical knowledge or relevant experience with large agricultural diesel machinery preferred

· Reliable and hardworking approach

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Minimum of Queensland C class driver’s licence
