Associate Director – Business Services & Tax

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Associate Director to join our Business Services & Tax division in our Sydney CBD office. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing a significant client portfolio, driving strategic growth initiatives, and mentoring high-performing teams within a dynamic, growth-focused environment.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will work closely with Partners to deliver high-level tax advisory and business services solutions to a diverse client base including SMEs, private groups, high-net-worth individuals, and emerging corporates.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Advisory

- Manage and grow a substantial portfolio of business services and tax clients
- Provide strategic tax planning and advisory across areas including:
- Income tax
- CGT
- Div 7A
- Trust structuring
- Small business concessions
- Business restructuring and succession planning
- Review complex financial statements and income tax returns
- Act as a trusted advisor to business owners and key stakeholders
- Identify value-add advisory opportunities and cross-sell firm services

Leadership & Team Development

- Lead, mentor and develop Managers and Senior Accountants




- Oversee workflow management, WIP control and billing performance
- Drive a high-performance culture aligned with firm values
- Contribute to recruitment and succession planning initiatives

Commercial & Strategic Contribution

- Support Partners with strategic planning and growth initiatives
- Drive business development through networking and relationship management
- Strengthen referral networks across legal, banking and finance sectors
- Maintain strong risk management and compliance standards

About You

- 8–12+ years’ experience within public practice (mid-tier or large boutique preferred)
- Demonstrated experience managing a sizeable client portfolio
- Strong technical expertise in Australian taxation
- Proven leadership capability with experience managing and mentoring teams
- Commercially minded with strong business development acumen
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
