Avionics Airfield Lighting Pty Ltd is one of Australia's leading contractors specialising in Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL), airport electrical systems, and civil infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced Site / Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of major airport infrastructure projects across Australia.

Location Preference

This role is primarily suited to applicants based in Queensland (ideally Brisbane or Townsville) and those willing to relocate or regularly travel to these project locations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of airport infrastructure projects from commencement through to completion.

You will work closely with site supervisors, subcontractors, clients and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

This is a hands on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys being both on site and involved in project planning, commercial management and client liaison.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and deliver civil, electrical and Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) projects
- Assist with project planning, scheduling and resource allocation
- Monitor project progress, budgets and cost control
- Prepare progress claims,



variations and extension of time submissions
- Develop and maintain project programs
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers
- Prepare procurement packages and purchase orders
- Ensure compliance with contract specifications and client requirements
- Maintain project documentation, quality records, ITPs and testing documentation
- Prepare monthly project and financial reports
- Monitor WHS, environmental and quality management systems
- Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with company management systems
- Attend client meetings and maintain robust stakeholder relationships
- Assist with tender preparation and estimating for future projects
- Identify project risks and implement practical mitigation strategies
- Bachelor of Civil, Electrical or Construction Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Project Engineer, Site Engineer or similar role.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Strong understanding of civil and/or electrical infrastructure project delivery
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- Full Australian working rights (visa sponsorship is not available for this position).




- Participate in day and night works as required
- Willingness to travel as required

Highly Regarded

- Previous airport or aviation infrastructure experience
- Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) experience
- Experience with MS Project & Office 365
- Experience with project cost control systems
- Knowledge of contract administration, variations and EOT claims
- Experience working under ISO Quality, WHS and Environmental Management Systems
- Security Requirements

As this project is located within a secure airport environment, successful applicants will be required to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC). Applicants must be able to successfully complete the required background and criminal history checks and pass pre-employment Drugs and Alcohol screening.
