My client a Federal Government Body is seeking an ITSM Automation Specialist to join their growing team. This is a 12 month fixed contract with a likelihood of extending based Sydney CBD. This role is focused on automating and integrating IT service management processes using the Microsoft ecosystem to improve efficiency, service quality, and user experience.

The ITSM Automation Specialist plays a pivotal role in modernising The Organisation’s service management ecosystem through the design, integration, and continuous enhancement of intelligent automation across the new HaloITSM platform and connected platforms and services.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years’ experience in automation design, service orchestration, or systems integration within enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with HaloITSM, Power Automate, Logic Apps, Azure Automation, or equivalent workflow automation technologies.
- Familiarity withAPI development, webhooks, and scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, Python) for system integration and task automation.




- Robust understanding ofMicrosoft 365, Azure, identity and access management (Entra ID), and HaloITSM platform workflows.
- Experience implementing or enhancing service catalogue, self-service, and workflow automation features.
- Microsoft Certified - Power Platform Developer Associate or Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate.
- Microsoft Certified - Azure Administrator Associate.
- ITIL 4 Foundation.

Desirable

- Experience withAI-assisted automation or intelligent workflow tools (e.g. Copilot, Power Automate AI Builder, Azure OpenAI).
- Exposure to service analytics, ticket classification AI, or predictive automation in IT operations.
- Familiarity with integration middleware (e.g. Azure Service Bus, API Management, Event Grid) to support orchestration and interoperability.
- Experience supporting automation governance frameworks within DevSecOps environments.
- Experience working inregulated or government environments with data residency and compliance considerations.
