Our client is a rapidly growing large global data centre platform undertaking a significant international expansion programme across multiple regions.
Backed by a substantial balance sheet and an ambitious long-term growth strategy, the business is actively deploying capital through strategic acquisitions, complex commercial transactions and large-scale infrastructure investments.
The role sits within a specialist transaction team responsible for evaluating and executing strategic investments across the broader digital infrastructure ecosystem.
This is a highly active execution environment. The business has completed multiple strategic acquisitions over recent years and continues to actively assess investment opportunities across adjacent sectors, technologies and operating platforms that support its long-term growth strategy.
In addition to corporate acquisitions, the team leads many of the organisation's most complex strategic commercial transactions. These are investment-led in nature and involve sophisticated financial analysis, commercial structuring, transaction negotiation and cross-functional execution.
The team currently comprises approximately six investment professionals and is expected to grow significantly over the coming years.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate strategic acquisition opportunities and platform investments.
- Oversight of financial modelling, valuation and commercial analysis for potential transactions.
- Prepare Investment Committee and Board papers.
- Coordinate commercial, financial, legal and technical due diligence.
- Structure and negotiate acquisitions and strategic investments.
- Lead complex commercial transaction workstreams from evaluation through execution.
- Assess transaction economics, capital deployment requirements and expected investment returns.
- Evaluate alternative funding and commercial structures where appropriate.
- Partner closely with broader teams to size, assess, structure and complete transactions.
- Present investment recommendations to senior executives and Investment Committee.
Candidate Profile
This opportunity is ideally suited to exceptional transaction professionals looking to move from advisory or investing into a principal investment setting where they will have direct ownership of strategic transactions.
We are interested in candidates currently working within:
- Investment Banking (M&A;, Infrastructure, Industrials or Technology)
- Infrastructure Investment Funds
- Infrastructure Private Equity
- We are not considern candidates from other backgrounds at this stage.
You will typically possess:
- Approximately 7–12+ years of transaction experience.
- Strong financial modelling and valuation capability.
- End-to-end M&A; execution experience.
- Experience preparing Investment Committee materials.
- Excellent commercial judgement and analytical capability.
- The ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously.
Sector experience within digital infrastructure, telecommunications, utilities or other capital-intensive infrastructure industries would be advantageous but is not essential.
