About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join the Maintenance Department reporting to the Maintenance Manager. You will be required to maintain the plant and equipment to prescribed standards in accordance with the maintenance schedule and ensure that all plant equipment is kept running by repairing, maintaining and inspecting the plant.

Maintenance fitting duties

- Equipment runs at budgeted level of machine uptime.
- Equipment runs at budgeted speeds.
- Equipment meets all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Plant and equipment is maintained in satisfactory working order.
- Work orders and PM’s are carried out within the set time frames.
- Attend and repair breakdowns within the set time frames.
- Escalate problems that are creating excess downtime.
- Re-design and modify plantand machinery to maximize production outputs.
- Ensure that all safety requirements are met when working with machinery and/or chemicals.




- Ensure that detailed information is entered into MEX including detailed history and downtime.
- Take part in analysis of maintenance and breakdown history to ensure the PM schedule is aligned to breakdown history.
- Manage/take part in either team or individual projects when required.
- You have a full awareness of the issue affecting performance.
- Conduct the required (RCA) level of analysis to understand the issues.
- Develop, recommend and/or implement corrective actions or strategies to address performance issues.
- Take part in the analysis of production data and maintenance database to develop insightful reports on maintenance performance.
- Participate in the preparation of daily reports and other required reports in a timely manner.
- Shift Work consist of 12 hour shifts on a 24/5 rotating roster. Overtime available as required.

Skills Highly Regarded

- Trade certificate (cert 3)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical industry
- Pneumatic experience preferred
- Previous experience in the printing industry preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Problem solving and analytical thinking skills
