Job Description
Our Perioperative Clinical Nurses provide additional leadership and advanced clinical competency to our Nursing Team. You will use your extensive experience to provide a mentorship and guiding aspect to assist in the professional growth of less-experienced nursing team members, supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in activities designed to aid the sustainability of the Clinical Stream and assist with skill development.
- Demonstrating advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and management of patients to achieve optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
- Supporting other staff in the unit to ensure provision of exceptional care to patients in line with best practice, Mater mission and values and policy and procedure
- Assist/Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
- Assist/support Nurse Unit Manager with facilitation of quality improvements and patient safety initiatives to improve effectiveness and efficiency of service and patient care outcomes

About the Candidate
- Minimum 4 years experience within an anaesthetics environment (desirable)
- Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
- Post graduate certificate qualification- desirable
- A strong work ethic,
positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively as a team member
- Ability to plan and facilitate management of workloads
- Knowledge and experience across all specialties within Mater Townsville
- Knowledge of continuous improvement process and the ability to initiate coordinate and evaluate quality improvement
