Senior Medical Officer – General Practice (Northern Queensland)

Role dates: 09/04/2026 to 31/12/2026 (various start dates available – see details below)

Type: Temporary

Salary: AUD 2,700 per month. Pay rate: $2,700 per day as provided.

Shift times: 07:45-17:15 & 12:00-22:00.

Location: Atherton Tablelands, Northern Queensland, approximately 63 km west of Cairns.

Job Details

- Hospital: 40-bed level 3 general hospital that sees 25,000 patients through ED, 200 births per annum; outreach to Dimbulah and Lotus Glen Correctional Centre; GP clinic sees 6,000 patients per year.
- Accommodation, car and travel provided.
- Start dates: ASAP – 31/05/26; 13/04/26 (critical); 08/05/26 (urgent – Lotus Glen Correctional Centre – GP only role); 15/06/26 – 12/07/26; 18/07/26 – 31/12/25.

Qualifications

Candidate must be registered with AHPRA and have the Right to Work in Australia.
