Job Description

Drive smarter cloud solutions and cost efficiency at scale. Viva Energy Australia is seeking a Senior FinOps & Cloud Engineer to lead the design and delivery of cost-effective Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Terraform, and cloud-native services. This is a hands-on technical role with strategic influence optimising cloud spend, enabling automation, and shaping infrastructure that supports critical national operations.

Responsibilities

- Design and implement scalable, secure Azure infrastructure using IaC and Terraform
- Monitor and optimize cloud usage and costs with FinOps best practices
- Leverage Azure-native services (AKS, Functions, Logic Apps, etc.) to enhance performance
- Automate deployments and integrate with CI/CD pipelines




- Ensure compliance, security, and governance across cloud environments
- Build dashboards and reports to track cloud spend and forecast budgets
- Collaborate across teams to align infrastructure with business and financial goals

Qualifications

- 10+ years in cloud engineering with deep Azure expertise
- Robust background in infrastructure automation, DevOps, and CI/CD
- Proven experience with FinOps tools and cloud cost optimization strategies
- Skilled in Terraform, Git, scripting (Python, PowerShell), and cloud-native services
- Experience in hybrid cloud environments and multi-site enterprise infrastructure
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Retail experience is a plus
