John Hunter Children?s Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse to join the Paediatric Immunology Service. About the Service
The Paediatric Immunology Service provides specialised care to children and families with allergy and immunology conditions. The team is dedicated, hardworking, and places patients and families at the centre of all aspects of care. The successful applicant will work closely with medical staff and allied health professionals and will be supported by a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) and a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2).
About the Role
The Registered Nurse will contribute to the delivery of comprehensive paediatric immunology services, including:
- Assisting with paediatric food challenges
- Supporting outpatient clinics
- Providing patient and family education
- Performing and assisting with skin prick testing
- Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care
This role offers the opportunity to develop specialised skills in allergy and immunology nursing within a tertiary paediatric setting.
About You
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be a Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Demonstrate a keen interest in Allergy and Immunology nursing
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families,
and the healthcare team
- Be motivated, hardworking, and adaptable, with a willingness to learn
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Show a commitment to professional development and a desire to build a career in Immunology nursing
Previous experience in paediatrics, allergy, or immunology is desirable but not essential, as education and support will be provided.
