- Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) – Acute Services
- Full-Time Permanent
- Location: Regional Victoria
- Emergency Department (ED) or Urgent Care Centre (UCC) nursing experience required

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUMs) to join a busy Acute Services team within a well-established rural health service.

The role offersthe prospect to step into a key clinical leadership role within a supportive and team-oriented healthcare environment.

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with a strong background in Emergency Department (ED) or Urgent Care Centre (UCC) nursing who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while supporting and mentoring clinical teams.

About the Role

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to provide clinical leadership across Acute Services and Urgent Care. You will play a pivotal role in supporting nursing staff, ensuring clinical excellence, coordinating patient care and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The ANUM assumes operational responsibility for the unit in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager and may be required to undertake After Hours Hospital Coordinator responsibilities as rostered.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing teams
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care
- Coordinate and oversee patient flow, admissions and discharge planning
- Support recognition and escalation of deteriorating patients
- Manage emergency presentations and urgent clinical situations
- Mentor, supervise and support nursing staff and students
- Promote quality improvement, patient safety and risk management initiatives




- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reporting
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and referral services

About You Essential

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 5 years post-graduate acute nursing experience
- Recent Emergency Department or Urgent Care Centre experience
- Demonstrated clinical leadership experience
- Triage competency
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) competency
- Advanced clinical assessment skillsExperience recognising and responding to patient deterioration
- Competency in cardiac monitoring, IV cannulation and venepuncture
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead teams in fast-paced clinical environments

Desirable

- Previous ANUM, Nurse In Charge or senior nursing experience
- Rural or regional healthcare experience
- Postgraduate qualifications in Emergency, Critical Care or Acute Nursing
