Senior Accountant

At Focus Partners, we help our clients get more from money and more from life. We’re a chartered accounting and financial planning firm right here in Albury-Wodonga, and we’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team and manage a portfolio of clients.

This is a hands-on technical role with real autonomy. You’ll deliver high-quality accounting, tax and compliance work, and play a key part in developing the junior members of our team. If you love getting the technical detail right and want to grow your leadership skills at the same time, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll do

You’ll prepare, review and manage financial statements and income tax returns across a full range of entities – sole traders, partnerships, trusts and companies. You’ll handle ongoing compliance obligations like BAS, PAYG, GST and FBT, prepare tax planning figures, and liaise with the ATO when needed.

Beyond the numbers, you’ll review work from less experienced team members, share your technical knowledge and help them build their confidence. You’ll also engage directly with clients, respond to queries and contribute to the clear,



consistent service our clients count on.

What you’ll bring

- A bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business or a related discipline with an Accounting major
- Solid experience finalising financial statements and tax returns for a range of entities
- Strong technical knowledge across CGT, Division 7A, depreciation, trust distributions, SBE concessions and tax minimisation strategies
- Confidence working independently on routine and complex matters
- Experience guiding and mentoring junior staff
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence with Xero, Xero Practice Manager, FYI Docs and NowInfinity
- CA or CPA qualification is a bonus, but not essential
