About the Role
This pivotal role delivers a seamless and world‑class experience for every stakeholder at the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027. As Tournament Services Manager you will ensure that athletes, officials, VIPs, volunteers and fans enjoy an exceptional event journey—from arrival to departure—through meticulous planning, operational excellence and collaborative leadership. Your work will directly shape the success of the tournament and uphold its athlete‑first and fan‑centred values. Build strong relationships with World Netball, government agencies, service providers and internal LOC teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the Tournament Services Operating Plan and Service Level Agreements across all functional areas;
- Accreditation & Arrivals/Departures – oversee accreditation systems, data integrity, privacy compliance and manage airport, hotel and venue operations for arrivals and departures;
- Teams & Officials – ensure a world‑class service environment for athletes and officials,
including accommodation, catering, transport and safeguarding protocols;
- Travel & Accommodation – manage hotel allocations, rooming lists and stakeholder travel arrangements;
- Transport & Logistics – develop transport plans, fleet management and contingency procedures;
- Workforce Services – define volunteer and staff services, partnering with People & Culture on training and wellbeing initiatives;
- Technology & Systems – own or co‑own event systems supporting Tournament Services;
- Map customer journeys and design end‑to‑end operational plans;
- Drive cross‑functional area readiness through test events, simulations and venue walkthroughs;
- Lead procurement for key services and support sponsor rights delivery.
What Sets You Apart
- Tertiary qualifications in Event/Sport Management, Operations or a related field (or equivalent experience);
- 7+ years in major event operations, ideally in Tournament or Event Services;
- Proven experience delivering athlete/team‑focused programmes at national or international events;
- Expertise in travel, accommodation, transport, logistics, accreditation and arrivals/departures;
- Strong vendor management, budgeting and risk management skills;
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities;
- Systems savvy with accreditation, workforce, transport and hotel platforms, advanced Excel/Sheets skills;
- Knowledge of safety, emergency and compliance requirements.
