Located in Melbourne's western growth corridor, this Catholic co-educational secondary college serves Years 7 to 12 within the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) network. With approximately 1,000+ students on a spacious single campus, the college has grown significantly since its establishment and continues to expand alongside one of Melbourne's fastest-growing residential areas.
The college fosters a warm, values-driven culture where pastoral care is central. A dedicated House system is supported by a wellbeing team including a psychologist, social worker, chaplain, and family liaison officer.
Role Overview
- Position Type: Full Time or Part Time Permanent
- Start Date: Term 1, 2027 (January)
- Location: Melbourne's Western Suburbs
- Subject Areas / Year Levels: English Years 7-12, VCE English Units 1-4
- Reports to: Deputy Principal
- Salary: $78,564 to $118,063 FTE depending on experience and classification. POL allowances apply for leadership positions.
Role Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, purposeful English lessons across Years 7-12 aligned to the Victorian Curriculum and VCAA requirements, with particular expertise in VCE English Units 1-4
- Support senior secondary students to achieve excellence in VCE English through evidence-based instruction, deep understanding of VCAA study designs,
assessment requirements and examination preparation
- Differentiate teaching to respond to the strengths, needs and interests of all learners, fostering a love of literature, language and critical thinking across all year levels
- Design and implement a range of assessment tools and strategies, providing timely, constructive and actionable feedback to students, parents and carers
- Actively participate in Professional Learning Communities, Learning Area Teams and Student Engagement Teams to enhance collaborative practice and strengthen learning outcomes
- Embrace and actively promote the college's Catholic ethos and Gospel values by fostering inclusive relationships and participating in faith-based activities including liturgies and social justice initiatives
About You
You're a qualified teacher who:
- Holds or is eligible to obtain Australian/NZ Citizenship, PR or valid work rights (Working Holiday Visa holders encouraged to apply)
- Holds or is eligible to obtain Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
- Has an updated resume and can provide at least two recent professional references
- Brings creativity and adaptability to lesson planning and delivery
- Maintains high expectations for student learning and wellbeing
