Position Profile: We are currently seeking to appoint an Aboriginal Mental Health Worker.

As part of the Great Southern Aboriginal Health Service (GSAHS), and under the direction and support of the Senior Mental Health Professional,



this role provides social and emotional wellbeing support to individuals and groups in response to community need. The Aboriginal Mental Health Worker is a member of the GSAHS multidisciplinary health team, working to improve access to mental health care and promote culturally safe Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB).

6. Eligible for / or in possession of a current C or C-A Class driver’s licence.

Desirable
1. Possession of, or significant progress towards a relevant qualification in social work, youth work, mental
health, counselling, nursing, social sciences or health sciences.
2. Experience working within a community health or health service setting.
3. Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services, and Occupational
Safety and Health and how these impact on employment and service delivery.
