About Cairns Sexual Health Service

Cairns Sexual Health Service is a leading specialist clinic providing free and confidential sexual and reproductive health care to the community. Our services include STI testing and treatment, HIV and blood-borne virus (BBV) care, contraception and fertility control, transgender health services, and pregnancy options counselling and support.

We are committed to delivering inclusive, person-centred care and support a diverse client population, including young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people living with HIV, gender-diverse individuals, and those seeking pregnancy-related care and advice.

Our collaborative multi-disciplinary team includes Doctors, Clinical Nurse Consultants, Clinical Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers, and Health Promotion staff, all working together to improve health outcomes for our community.

About your role:

- Provide general administrative support including ordering of stationery, answering phone enquiries, photocopying, filing, faxing, and minute-taking as required,



to enable health professional and medical staff to meet their objectives and deliver services to patients and colleagues.
- Consult with appropriate Health fund and Medicare for clarification of health coverage and arrange the completion and signing of necessary Health Fund and Medicare claim forms.
- Act as primary point of contact for the department including answering routine reception and phone calls whilst providing accurate information to clients, visitors and staff accessing the department.
- Maintain electronic patient records in Communicare (RIVeR) and Hospital Based Corporate Information System (HBCIS), including the creation of new and the update of existing registrations daily.
