Vetlink is seeking a veterinarian to join a modern, fully equipped small animal practice in Coastal Queensland.

This full-time role offers a four-day working week and the chance to become part of a supportive team of 4.5 FTE vets, including two lead vets, alongside an abundance of qualified veterinary nurses. The practice is committed to high-quality patient care, strong client relationships and ongoing professional development.

The role has a focus on small animal consultations and surgery. The roster consists of four days per week, with one weeknight on call and participation in a shared one-in-five weekend on-call roster. The practice is family friendly and can offer flexible rostering, helping team members find an arrangement that works with life outside the clinic.

The hospital offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services and is equipped with an endoscope, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, a full Idexx laboratory suite, deep tissue laser, a new ultrasound machine and orthopaedic equipment. Vets also have access to a wide support network of like-minded professionals and an online learning portal.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and have current Veterinary Board registration or be eligible for veterinary registration in Australia. Two or more years of veterinary experience will be highly regarded.

The practice is looking for someone compassionate and friendly with an easy-going yet professional attitude, excellent client and team communication skills,

a commitment to high standards of patient and client care, and the adaptability and initiative to work effectively within the team.

A competitive salary package is offered in line with skills and experience. Benefits include paid Veterinary Board registration, radiation licence and VIN membership, novated lease arrangements, a generous annual contribution towards professional development and one week of paid study leave. There is also a long-term bonus/equity prospect that provides 10% of salary on completion of three years of service. The practice is certified as a Great Place to Work and is recognised as a Skilled Mental Health First Aid® workplace, reflecting its focus on mental health, wellbeing and work/life balance.

The region offers a relaxed Queensland lifestyle surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes. The area feature sandy shores, coastal communities, melaleuca forests, sand dune ecosystems and mangrove-fringed creeks, providing plenty of opportunities to spend time outdoors and by the water. Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays are approximately 1.5 hours away, putting one of Queensland’s best-known coastal destinations within easy reach.

The employer is willing to assist with a work visa (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia. Relocation assistance is also available.
