About the role
Tetris Group is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Smithfield, NSW, this role offers flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of mechanical fitting projects. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical components and equipment to the highest standards of quality and safety. This position is integral to ensuring our clients receive reliable, well-executed mechanical solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Assembling and installing mechanical components, equipment, and systems according to technical specifications and drawings
- Performing precision fitting work using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
- Conducting routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders accurately
- Inspecting finished work to ensure it meets quality standards and safety requirements
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues and identifying solutions efficiently
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols
- Collaborating with team members and supervisors to complete projects on schedule
- Recording work completed and maintaining accurate documentation
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role in a manufacturing, engineering, or maintenance environment
- Strong proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Sound understanding of mechanical principles and assembly techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- A solid track record of adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to varying work schedules and project requirements
- Current relevant qualifications or certifications (such as engineering qualifications or trade certifications) are advantageous
- Experience in a rapid-paced, deadline-driven environment is desirable
