Task & responsibilities

- Examine foodstuffs to ensure quality, freshness, and compliance with food safety standards.
- Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, pasta cookers, and other commercial cooking equipment.
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of fresh pasta dishes, Italian sauces, and other menu items according to established recipes.
- Cook pasta to the correct texture and efficiently manage multiple orders during peak service periods.
- Prepare fresh ingredients,



including vegetables, meats, seafood, herbs, and sauces for daily production.
- Season food during cooking to ensure consistent flavour and quality.
- Portion food, plate dishes, and add sauces, garnishes, herbs, and cheese to meet presentation standards.
- Store food and ingredients in temperature-controlled facilities in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Prepare meals to meet customers' special dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
- Assist with menu planning and estimating food and ingredient requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen while complying with workplace health and safety procedures..
- Work efficiently in a high-volume commercial kitchen, contributing to the preparation

Qualification & experience

- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).
- Previous experience as a Cook in an Italian restaurant or other high-volume commercial kitchen is highly desirable.
- Sound knowledge of Italian cooking techniques, pasta preparation, food safety, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining exceptional food quality.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
