Overview
Deliver results by blending off-the-shelf platforms with custom-built automation and AI. You'll lead the delivery and adoption of internal systems that reduce toil, speed up delivery, and deliver commercial value. Your toolkit includes both our internal dev team and a range of off-the-shelf SaaS platforms like Pia, CloudRadial, Power Automate, UiPath, and Azure OpenAI. This is a leadership and delivery role focused on turning automation potential into business outcomes. You'll manage a small, talented team, drive adoption, model ROI, and ensure the right mix of build vs buy.
Duties
- Delivery Leadership: Own the roadmap across internal platforms - including both off-the-shelf and custom-built solutions. Guide the PM in backlog management, remove blockers, and ensure timely delivery
- Team Management: Lead and coach a team of 5-7 engineers. Support their growth through structured 1:1s, feedback, and personal development planning
- Adoption & Change: Ensure solutions (built or bought) actually get used. Roll out adoption plans including internal comms, metrics, training, and follow-up to hit 80%+ active usage within 90 days
- Build vs. Buy Judgement: Evaluate whether to customise, extend, or replace existing systems. Lead rapid scoping, proof-of-concepts, and ROI modelling
- Technical Oversight: Ensure secure, API-first, scalable architecture, whether implementing off-the-shelf tools or building in-house
- Commercial Discipline: Make value-based decisions. Align all work to commercial returns, staff efficiency, or customer outcomes
Qualifications
- Experience delivering internal systems and automation projects, ideally in an MSP or SaaS-heavy workplace
- Proven team leadership experience, growing, mentoring, and managing engineers
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery, system ownership, and change management
- Commercial focus, confident in ROI modelling, licensing decisions, and impact-led prioritisation
- Technical fluency with APIs, integration design, and security best practices
- Clear playbook for driving adoption, not just shipping features
- Bonus: familiarity with platforms like Pia, CloudRadial, Power Automate, UiPath, Azure OpenAI, or ConnectWise ecosystem
What Success Looks Like
- Team performance: The team is engaged, delivers consistently, and staff turnover is low
- Feature adoption: At least 85% of intended users are actively using new features within 90 days of release
- Return on investment: Each project delivers a clear, measurable benefit within 12 months
- Sprint delivery: At least 85% of the planned work is completed each sprint
