An exciting opportunity exists at Zenith for an experienced Product Designer/Mechanical Engineer to join our Product Technical Support team based in Sandringham, Vic.
We are seeking a product design qualified who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in supporting sales teams and manufacturing teams with custom product design and technical design support when needed.
The position is a permanent full-time office role based at our Sandringham design and manufacturing facility. Salary flexible, dependant on persons experience and skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
- Developing customer specials and product enhancements
- Producing technical documentation and drawings for manufacture.
- Development of new products (Conceptual idea generation, sketching and CAD)
- Helping to produce and evaluate prototypes and customer mockups.
- Support for the manufacturing, sales and customer service teams.
- Help maintain and develop the CAD and drawing database
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or Product Design Engineering
- Proficient in 3D CAD; Solid Edge or similar
- Other related design software skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills required
- Ability to organise and prioritise
- Initiative and self-motivation
- Organisation and documentation
- Ability to work and meet tight timelines
- Model-making / prototype manufacture
- Understanding of ERP/MRP Systems
- Knowledge of current leading-edge commercial furniture products
- Knowledge of drawing systems
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards
