Overview
An exciting opportunity is available for a People and Talent Advisor to join the People team at Burnet. In this role you will support a range of activities within the People team with a key focus on end-to-end recruitment, selection and onboarding, including job design and evaluation. You will embed inclusive practices in recruitment systems and processes, coach key stakeholders, and contribute to reporting against team metrics. Additionally, you will participate in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of People projects, initiatives and day-to-day operations.
This is an ongoing, full-time position with flexible working hours and a hybrid option (3 days working from home).

Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment and selection including job design, evaluation, advertising, screening, shortlisting, interviewing, and reference checks
- Provide advice and coaching to hiring managers on best practice sourcing and inclusive practices
- Provide high quality candidate care and assess talent attraction strategies
- Manage international recruitment processes including visas and sponsorship
- Advise on position management including re-classifications and title changes
- Record and track recruitment and candidate data in HRIS, manage HR queries and update contract templates
- Report on People metrics and coordinate onboarding and employee referral programs
- Support equity and inclusion plans such as RAP, Disability Action Plan, Gender Equity Action Plan and WGEA reporting
- Brief hiring managers on onboarding processes and advise on reasonable accommodations
- Undertake People projects including employer branding and Careers@Burnet website maintenance
- Complete all required training for the role
What we're looking for
Essential requirements
- Demonstrated experience across the full employment lifecycle, especially recruitment, onboarding and retention
- Proven ability to advise on HR functions such as employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning
- Experience with HRIS and recruitment systems, with strong HR data analysis and reporting skills
- Collaborative team player who contributes positively to culture and initiatives
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail
- Robust organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer service skills
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related discipline, or equivalent experience
Desirable
- Previous HR experience within academic, health or research settings
