Assets Coordinator
Temporary opportunity until August 2026, with possibility of extension. Full‑time hours (35 hours per week). Base at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, with occasional travel to Mt Annan and Mt Tomah sites. Salary is $113,574 – $125,720 plus superannuation.
About the role
As our Assets Coordinator, you’ll play a hands‑on role in keeping the Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Sydney operating smoothly. You’ll help oversee asset management, facilities maintenance and project services, ensuring everything is up to standard and compliant. You’ll respond to facilities enquiries, supervise contractors and keep our systems and records in top shape, working closely with staff, consultants and stakeholders to support site operations and keep everyone on the same page.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee asset management, facilities maintenance and project services.
- Respond to facilities enquiries and supervise contractors.
- Maintain systems, records, budgets and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, health and government standards.
- Coordinate with staff, consultants and stakeholders to support operations.
- Apply sound judgment, juggle priorities and deliver high‑quality service.
What you will bring
- Strong understanding of asset management, construction, procurement and project management principles.
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced computer literacy and adaptability to new systems.
- Extensive experience in the asset, building trade or construction industry.
- Outstanding time management and ability to thrive in quick‑paced environments.
- Proven ability to budget, schedule, negotiate and control costs.
- Experience managing contractors and ensuring compliance with quality, safety and government standards.
- Knowledge of government contracts, operating systems,
hardware and project management software.
- Familiarity with quality assurance, health and safety standards.
- Persistence, determination and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- White Card NSW or willingness to obtain it within the first few months.
Essential requirements
- Building trade or tertiary qualifications in property, facilities or project management and/or equivalent relevant experience in assets/facilities management.
- Ability to work outside normal working hours and on weekends if required.
- Ability to travel to and attend work at any site within the BGGS portfolio as directed.
