As part of LifeHealthcare, MO Milling is a small team of experienced designers, engineers and manufacturing professionals focused on advancing medical device R&D.; Working across locations in Canberra and Sydney, our innovative team produces bespoke surgical instruments and custom devices for our partner surgeons' unique practice preferences. This full-time position is based at our Canberra office, where you will join our collaborative and knowledgeable design team. Once competence has been gained in the role,
this position may operate in a hybrid working arrangement between the office and home.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and maintain design requirements for custom surgical instrument projects
- Develop design concepts, 3D-printed prototypes, renders, and validation testing protocols
- Create detailed 3D-Computer Aided Design models of custom surgical instruments
- Create 2D technical drawings for manufacture of custom surgical instruments
- Complete and review technical, traceability, and project release documentation
Required skills and experience:
- Prior experience using Solidworks CAD software in engineering design and drafting.
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
- Prior experience working in product CNC manufacturing, ISO 13485, and ISO 9001 quality management systems highly regarded.
- High attention to detail and robust analytical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a small team environment.
- Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks to meet production deadlines.
- Proficiency using MS Word and Excel
- Familiarity with 3D-printing fundamentals and Adobe Illustrator
