Overview

The purpose of this role is to design, and develop visually compelling and effective learning solutions for Emergent Learning clients. The role places a strong emphasis on visual communication, ensuring that all learning products are not only pedagogically sound but also aesthetically engaging, brand-aligned, and user-centric. Working closely with clients and internal teams, the Learning Designer integrates principles of graphic design, user experience (UX), and learning theory to produce high-impact digital and print materials. The Learning Designer will ensure that all work is delivered in accordance with client briefs, while meeting commercial viability and timeline requirements. Core Responsibilities

- Applying evidence-based learning design approaches, frameworks, models and methodologies – including Emergent Learning’s own EMERGE Model – to design and develop learning solutions
- Collaborating with subject matter experts and instructional designers to design and develop learning materials, including storyboards for e-learning modules, production of videos with support from professional videographers, development of interactive exercises, and assessments that drive learning outcomes.
- Conducting thorough needs assessments to identify learning gaps and performance improvement opportunities, using a range of evaluation methods, including but not limited to action mapping, human-centred design techniques, competency-based assessments and so on.
- Development of high-level learning solution designs/plans, including curriculum design.
- Coordinating and prioritising multiple learning projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.




- Evaluating the effectiveness of learning solutions through assessments and feedback mechanisms, and making necessary improvements based on feedback and data analysis.
- Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in learning and development to continuously improve the learning content and methodologies.

Other Responsibilities

- Enthusiastic collaboration with learning design team and input into quality outcomes.
- Ongoing contribution to refinement of our templates, tools, methods, and processes to ensure we continue to improve and deliver value.
- Occasional sales support, including contribution to scoping, budgeting, and planning new learning projects.
- Occasional marketing support, including events, articles, social-media, and conferences.
- Participation and collaboration with broader company objectives, such as contribution to the development of team culture.

Qualifications

- Preferred: Tertiary Qualification in Education, Adult Learning
- Acceptable: Tertiary Qualification in Visual/UX Design

Skills/Tools

Ideal:

- Experience designing and developing eLearning courses using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms and supporting software such as PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in virtual collaboration tools such as, Miro, Monday.com.
- Excellent creative thinking,



problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Alternative to Tertiary

- Demonstrable experience i.e. Portfolio showcasing visual/learning design work, eLearning projects, and PowerPoint presentations is required.
- Evidence of Learning Design related courses
